Getting ready for college. Getting involved on campus. Thinking critically.
These are some of the topics tackled in a new podcast called “The Conservative Woman’s Guide” from the Network of enlightened Women, a nonprofit that aims to provide support, resources and camaraderie for women attending college.
“When a young student steps foot on campus, she is faced with institution after institution pushing a progressive agenda,” said Karin Lips, founder and president of NeW, in an interview with The College Fix.
“NeW provides the answer through this project,” she said. “This is the first guide of its kind made specifically to help conservative women on campus. Conservative students face unique challenges when they head off to a university and need resources made exclusively for them.”
Lips cohosts the podcast along with Peyton Smith, who told The College Fix via email “I am excited to be able to share advice that I wish someone had told me while I was still in school.”
On a recent episode focused on critical thinking, Lips and Smith discussed how it’s important for women to discern what they see on their news feeds, dig deeper than the headlines, and keep tabs on both sides of the debate.
The first season is focused on college life and will be 10 short episodes. Upcoming episodes will discuss living away from home, dealing with liberal professors, finding a mentor, excelling in first jobs and internships, and how to stand up to progressive narratives and make the case for conservative ideas.

Future seasons will focus on policy topics and professional development.
“We created this podcast as a resource for young conservative women interested in learning how to be effective leaders,” Lips told The Fix.
NeW, first created by Lips in 2004 when she was an undergrad at the University of Virginia, now has a presence on more than 60 campuses. The groups host guest speakers, conferences, book clubs and other events.
“The Conservative Women’s Guide” is available on most podcast platforms, including Spotify, Apple and Ricochet.
