I advocate that most common citizens have back round knowledge on how the law works, congressional procedures, and google legislation that is being debated out rather than depending on the news to teach us everything.

What we hear in the news should be used with our own critical thinking ability and objectivity so we aren’t brainwashed and thus react to what might have been a lie or spin of the truth.

I suspect that if ordinary common citizens formed some kind of youtube group or something, we’d find we have a lot in common and aren’t as polarized on issues in the way that TV portays. Afterall left wing and right wing TV are after ratings so they’re stories are made to have a sense of sensationalism to get people to watch.

Don’t forget news is a business.

It makes me wonder why Dems would even want to “go there” with the racist parallels. Maybe they don’t notice all of the parallels that can theoretically be drawn between their view on a humanity of a fetus and the view of a Civil War era southerner on the humanity of a black person? Dehumanizing someone always precedes discrimination, abuse and slaughter of said entity. (In addition to slavery in the US and abortion, See: Holocaust, cannibalism, etc.) Of course, Dems and Repubs alike denounce slavery, the Holocaust and cannibalism. What about abortion?
