‘Middle-aged Black male’ vandalized FSU Black Student Union house: report

‘Likely a transient person’

Florida State University says a “middle-aged Black male” who is “likely a transient person” vandalized the Black Student Union house.

The vandalism happened sometime between the evening of Nov. 29 and the morning of Nov. 30 according to Her Campus.

“FSUPD [Police Department] is in possession of video footage showing a middle-aged Black male, likely a transient person, breaking the glass door at the Black Student Union House,” the university media relations director told the outlet. “This is an open and active investigation. Classes and events at the BSU House have been relocated [temporarily] due to the damaged door. FSU Facilities is working to have the glass replaced as soon as possible.”

The house is a meeting place for the BSU and other student groups, with a particular focus on black organizations.

This is not the only attack on a racial identity building that has been carried out by a minority.

A black female in a “head scarf” attacked the University of Virginia “Black Cultural Center,” as The College Fix uncovered following a public records request.

“The police report identified Zaynab Bintabdul-Hadijakien as the person most likely to have thrown a rock through a window at the Luther Porter Jackson Black Cultural Center within the campus Office of African-American Affairs in August,” as The Fix previously reported. She attacked the building likely as retaliation against the center’s director.

The university had previously not responded to multiple requests for comment on the race of the suspect.

The Fix previously broke the story that a black Minnesota high schooler was behind an Instagram account sending racist messages. A white conservative student had previously been accused of sending the messages.

The Fix also broke the story that a Wayne State University student likely egged her own door and then framed it as a hate crime.
